The website is still under construction, but this is some of what will be the final result.
These pages are already coded and validated.

  1. Hi guys,
great to see your blog updated.

First, the brief was to use the Zoo's design, to use elements of the Zoo's design, with, of course, creating a new site with an unique look. Right now I miss a connection to the Zoo current look.

    The frontpage.
Please ask yourself if someone looking at that page the first time will get your idea "Arctic coming to Copenhagen". Right now I see a pole in the middle of Copenhagen from which a blue shape spreads out. (It would at least need a headline.)(Maybe also mention the Arctic Ring at the bottom of the page – cause that is what you are selling actually. I would have that at the bottom of each page.)

Is that the wow-effect on the frontpage? Does that make one curious to spend more time on the site? I think the message is good, and it can be powerful if shown in an interesting way, especially on the frontpage. Is that the amazing crazy thing when the Arctic comes to Copenhagen that the ice spreads out in Copenhagen?? Is that the coolest thing of the Arctic being or coming to Copenhagen, that the ice is spreading from the middle of Copenhagen?? I think if the Arctic would be in Copenhagen, that the ice spreads out is the least cool, amazing thing about it.

So right now it's a boring frontpage. Sorry ;).

    Please be creative there.

Then I see a multipicture page.
This is a way to put your little ideas in. Does it work as navigation – when I go on one pic do I see a video or a next page? Wouldn't it be more powerful having one or two great ideas and to make that fullsize on the page?

    The target group.
You mention the target group being the family. You still have to make a decision whether to talk to the parents or to talk to the kids, you can't talk to both at the same time.

The question is also, how do you lead the visitor of your website from the thought that the Arctic comes to Copenhagen to the actual Arctic Ring? In other words: How much do you talk about the actual Arctic Ring and when? Or do you don't tell much about the Arctic Ring but just say that the Arctic comes to Copenhagen, only mentioning the Arctic Ring? Which would work too.

    Some thoughts:
    • Could you come up with stuff where the visitor of your site interacts?
    • The time from now until the opening of the Arctic Ring is a long period of time. To surprise people with your website, to get a little wow-feeling from your target group with your website, with the website you have right now that would only last a short period of time. Maybe 4 month. Then everyone has got the idea that the Arctic comes to Copenhagen, got the joke, thought its funny. But how do you keep the attention going until the actual opening of the Arctic Ring with your website? Could your website be put into phases, stages? Stage one: Teasing the idea of the Arctic coming to Copenhagen, stage two: introducing the idea of the Arctic coming to Copenhagen, stage three: more about the Arctic Ring itself.

Have fun with the project, enjoy the working weekend, Mike

  2. Hi guys,
I remember we also talked about to put some elements of the actual Arctic Ring into downtown Copenhagen. For instance the glastunnel. Or swimming polar bears. The nice thing about that would be that you not only mention the coming Arctic Ring but with your campaign site you are actually talk a lot about the Arctic Ring itself, with some of its features and highlights.

    Rock on, Mike
